Not to be forgotten February 23, 1993

The nation remembers clearly the events of 9/11/01.What about 2/23/93?

The events of September 11, 2001 remain as vivid today as on the day they occured. The events affected the entire nation and impacted the entire world. The terrorist attack permanantly altered the landscape of New York City along with the memories of all New Yorkers.
Very little is ever mentioned about the first attempt to bring the World Trade Center to the ground. February 23, 1993 when a truck bomb was detonated in the lower level of the North tower. The damage inflicted was far less than the terrorist had expected and subsequent arrests and convictions resulted. This attack proved to be a prelude to what was to come. The terrorist vowed to bring the towers down!

Many additional measures have been taken to ensure the safety of this nation from further attack on the United States. As we have learned terrorism can exist internally as well and have just as much of an impact if not more. The magnitude of the attack often dictates the importance of the memory but it doesn't diminish the importance of the affect it has on the citizens of this country.
